Jacqui Casey
Jacqui Casey is a retired local government officer and project management consultant specialising in planning & regeneration for over 30 years; working across England. Having experienced first symptoms in 2019, Jacqui was diagnosed with lower limb onset ALS in April 2022. Jacqui lives with her fantastic husband, Ian, in the West Midlands and is well supported by him, her 2 sons and friends & family, both near and far. She keeps as mobile as possible using a rollator & power chair, is a board trustee of her local Hospice and spends as much time as possible with friends and family. Jacqui joined the MND-SMART Trial in March 2024 and the Patient Advisory Council a few months later.
Jacqui describes the support received through the MND-SMART Trial as “excellent, proactive care through the local MND Trial Centre; with the trial itself providing and a rare opportunity for someone with the devastating diagnosis of MND to take part in a hugely positive activity which is contributing to finding new treatments and, ultimately, a cure.”
