MND SMART Launches in Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Oct 2025: The trial opens a new recruitment location in Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

We’re pleased to welcome Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust to the MND SMART team. The addition of this new trial site means that people living with Motor Neuron Disease can now take part in MND SMART at 25 locations across the UK.

Dr Radu Stoica, Sub-Investigator says:

We are delighted to offer our patients the opportunity to participate in the MND SMART trial. For the first time, patients living with MND in West London will be able to join a major therapeutic clinical trial without having to travel to other Centres. This is an important milestone for our service

MND SMART is currently testing 2 repurposed drugs; Amantadine and Tacrolimus. Read more about these drugs here https://mnd-smart.org/about/trial-drugs
