Beverley Gray

Patient Advisory Group Member | Lay Representative TSC

Beverley is a dedicated advocate for motor neurone disease (MND) research and a proud mother of three wonderful children. She is also now a mother-in law. Beverley’s late husband, Alan, was diagnosed with MND in 2017 and bravely faced the challenges of the disease until his passing in 2021.

Alan was deeply committed to advancing our understanding of MND and was proud to be involved with the MND-SMART trial before it officially began, serving as patient number one. His participation was not only a personal journey but also a significant contribution to the research community, aimed at improving the lives of those affected by MND.

Inspired by Alan’s strength and the impact of his involvement in the MND-SMART trial Beverley is passionate about supporting ongoing research and raising awareness of MND. The MND-SMART trial provides hope to those diagnosed with this disease—hope that has not been available before. Her goal is to honour Alan’s legacy by contributing to the fight against MND and advocating for better treatment options for patients and families.
